I hope you are enjoyed your Spring Break! I had a busy break becoming a mother and welcoming my son into the world, so I have had my hands full. With the arrival of Jack, I will be taking maternity leave for a good part of the remainder of the school year, and Ms. Sandra Perez will be the Acting Principal in my absence. Ms. Perez has been with PS 191 for 15+ years, and I am more than confident that the school is in great hands with her at the helm. I will be in touch with Ms. Perez during my leave, and will be checking in on the school through her. Although I am thrilled to be a mother, I will most certainly miss our students and our school community during my absence.
Please enjoy the remainder of the school year, and I will look forward to seeing you upon my return.

Our Vision & Mission: The Museum Magnet School is a diverse and inclusive school community where children are educated through a collaborative effort among parents, staff, students and community with a focus on meeting both the academic and social emotional needs of every child. We provide a rigorous and accessible academic program in all content areas, to instill a love of learning in our students and to prepare them to be responsible and productive global citizens. Learning at MMS expands beyond the four walls of the classroom, so that students are engaging with the community around them.
Magnet Standards: Students at the Museum Magnet School will:
Actively engage and interact with various museums, cultural institutions, and the performing arts
Become “museum researchers” who will utilize primary, secondary, and museum resources to understand the core curriculum and beyond
Visually display work in a museum-like way that explicitly illustrates knowledge, skills, including writing for a museum audience
Actively engage in Project Based Learning (PBL) that demands critical thinking, collaboration and communication
Know and use evolving 21st century technology to support college and career readiness
