(Wear a crazy pair of socks or tights for our school celebration)
Damaris Carrion is the Museum Magnet School’s Parent Coordinator. The Parent Coordinator works to engage and involve parents within the school community, along with the school administration, the staff, the Parents Association and community groups. You may visit your Parent Coordinator with any questions or concerns in the main office. She can also be reached by calling the school’s main number or you can e-mail her at DCarrion@schools.nyc.gov
Upcoming school wide information may be found on all bulletin boards on the ground floor. A weekly news blast is emailed to parents every Friday with the upcoming week’s information. Please make sure that I have your email address to ensure that you receive the most up to date information. You may also contact me through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Information may also be sent to you through our School Messenger System. This system will call homes with a pre-recorded message or reminder. As we all know, successful communication between the home and school is a vital part of your child’s school experience.
Pre K information and applications can found online at the Department of Education website
The Museum Magnet School believes that wearing a uniform helps our students feel prepared and ready to learn. Our uniform for ALL students grades PreK-8 is below.
Top: grey, pink or light blue collared polo shirt
Bottom: khaki/beige or navy blue bottoms.
We offer many opportunities for our students after school hours:
The Magnet Cafe provides parents an opportunity to learn and inquire about our school, and get up-to-date news about upcoming happenings, events, workshops, and voice their ideas and opinions. It is the venue for our parent/family community members to congregate and get to know each other. They are held on the second Friday of every month from 8:30-9:30am and located in the Family Room.
